BER Assessor Qualifications

All BER Assessors are trained in accordance with the SEAI training guidelines and must pass an exam to attain the qualification of BER Assessor.

Assessors are audited by SEAI and must keep proper records of all of the following:

• BER Certificates
• Provisional BER Certificates
• Advisory Reports
• BER data files constituting the output of BER surveys
• All supporting drawings, data and other documentation supporting the BER survey

The Quality Assurance and Disciplinary Procedures implemented by the SEAI, ensures that both the quality and integrity of the BER scheme is maintained. Disciplinary sanctions can arise from BER Assessor audits or customer complaints. Audits are selected on either a random or targeted basis at SEAI's discretion.
