Below is a sample of an Irish BER Certificate. All BER certificates in Ireland are issued by SEAI registered BER assessors and registered on the SEAI national BER register.
What Information is on a BER Certificate?
- BER Rating - a scale from A0 (most efficient/Zero Emission Building) to G (least efficient)
- Property Address - the full address of the assessed property
- Validity Period - the certificate is valid for 10 years from the date of issue
- BER Number - your unique certificate reference number
- Building Type & Build Year - type and age of the property
- Assessor Details - name, assessor number and company of the SEAI registered assessor
- Annual Primary Energy Use - energy use per floor area in kWh/m²/y
- Annual Final Energy Use - energy used directly in the building
- Renewable Energy - percentage of total energy from renewable sources
- Building Energy Demand - energy required to maintain indoor conditions
- Global Warming Potential - the building's carbon footprint indicator
- Assessor Signature - signed by the SEAI registered assessor
